Job Details
The Plant (General) Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire plant, including the manufacturing process and ensuring that production runs safely and on time.
Duties to include but not limited to:
Plan, organize, direct and run optimal day-to-day operations to exceed our customers expectations (including full P&L responsibility)
Coordinate operations with management team i.e. Engineering Manager, Materials Manager, Quality Manager, HR Manager and Controlling Manager
Ensure the total plant manufacturing objectives are accomplished, i.e. labor efficiency, material efficiency, quality ratings, delivery performance, inventory turnover
Ensure proper input for budget planning, i.e. headcount, capital projects, maintenance
Ensure standard operations and replace incorrect standards to ambitious and achievable targets
Optimize operational cost (personnel, overtime, scrap and other expenses)
Works with Human Resources to hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, and resolve plant personnel issues
Monitor process KPIs and convert results into PDCA cycle
Implement and maintain all preventative/predictive maintenance, environmental, and health and safety programs
Demonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees, or assign employee(s) to experienced workers for training
Provide direction, development and leadership to department heads and floor associates
Work Experience and Qualifications:
- Must have at least 5-7 years of experience working in an automotive manufacturing environment as a Plant Manager or Operations Manager; preferably at a Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive supplier
- Proven track record of implementing plant operational reporting metrics, continuous improvement and cost reduction activities
- An appreciation of proactive management practices in a non-union environment
- Commitment to a process driven matrix organization
- Report KPIs in an international management conference
- Capital Project planning and execution
- Encourage a continuous improvement culture
- Cultural sensitivity to be effective within an evolving organization
- Ability to balance and achieve positive results in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost and team member relations

- Quality Systems knowledge IATF 16949 and ISO 14001

Computer Skills:
- Working knowledge of the MS Office
- SAP knowledge is a plus
Reasoning Ability:
Able to start or stop all productions of all departments
- Able to discipline team members, hire and terminate team members with HR approval
- High attention to details required
Education:
- BS degree Bachelor s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, Industrial Health and Safety or Metals Industry.
- Must have at least 5 years management experience working in an automotive manufacturing environment as a Plant Manager, Operations Manager or Production Manager
- Must have at least 5-7 years experience working in a manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive
Work Environment:
While performing the duties of this job, will occasionally works near moving and/or hot mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Occasional travel to domestic and overseas operations
Must be willing and able to work in a manufacturing environment.
