Smith & Associates is looking for a Account Representative to join our NYC team. Once you join this team, you will become acquainted with our core values that define Smith. With a reputation of 37 years of excellence, Smith & Associates is leading the way in electronic component distribution. Our diverse portfolio of pieces can be found in consumer electronics, medical devices, solar, and aerospace and defense. Our 17 offices range from Silicon Valley, New York City, Munich, Shenzhen and Shanghai, with hubs in Amsterdam and Hong Kong.

Essential Job Duties

  • Develop relationships with potential customers after cold outreach
  • Enter and maintain customer profiles into Smith's internal sales database
  • Cultivate a continuous pipeline of prospects
  • Maintain relationships with customers to retain sales
  • Interface with the purchasing team to stay informed of current inventory
  • Negotiate prices with customers according to market trends
  • Develop specific marketing strategies to generate sales leads, pursue industry growth and discover the best way to represent Smith to established clients
Competencies
  • Aptitude to connect with customers over the phone, build relationships and close deals
  • Self-motivated with attention to detail
  • Committed to customer satisfaction, confidentiality and ability manage proprietary data
  • CRM experience preferred

FSLA Exempt

Compensation range: $50,000-$60,000

Additional compensation/commission: you will be eligible to receive additional compensation in the form of sales commissions
