Position Title: Maintenance, General

Reports to: Director of Facilities and Special Projects

FLSA: Non-exempt

Summary of the position: Performs routine and extensive preventative maintenance

and repair procedures for MCS buildings, mechanical equipment and utility systems.

Qualifications: High school diploma or the equivalent. Experience working or licensed

in HVAC, Electrical and/or Plumbing skill trades.

Supervises: None

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (include the following. Other duties may be

assigned).

? Reports all facility damage and any suspected or known thefts, break-ins, etc.,

immediately to the Director of Safety and Security; all other administrators as

applicable.

? When directed, assists with regular custodial duties.

? Responsible for lining all sports fields for practices and athletic events as work

load permits.

? Inspects all playground and equipment, reporting to the Director Facilities and

Special Projects any deficiencies.

? Dependable coming to work as scheduled. Reports absences promptly.

? Successfully completes all in-service training required for the position within

timelines and participates in all other training as assigned.

? Performs preventive maintenance procedures on building mechanical equipment

on a scheduled basis.

? Cleans and inspects boiler; treats water with proper chemicals.

? Calibrates and repairs pneumatic systems.

? Repairs plumbing, sewage, electrical, and structural components of school

physical plants.

? Completes daily, weekly and monthly checklists on building equipment

maintenance procedures and maintains records of scheduled maintenance

procedures including Jr. High swimming pool..

? Ability to operate a computer which controls and monitors mechanical equipment

and utility systems.

? Installs electrical wiring and equipment, new electrical services, wiring during

remodeling projects, replaces and repairs wiring as needed.

? Repairs electrical equipment and control circuits; replaces faulty electrical

switches, repairs refrigeration equipment.

? May repair electrical locks and control panels to maintain building security.

? May assist with the installation of computer cable.

? Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required.

? Performs outside custodial duties such as snow removal as required.

? May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts, orders parts as needed.

? Maintains assigned vehicle, tools and equipment for the purpose of ensuring

availability in safe operating condition.

? Promotes good public relations for the School Corporation and community.

? Must have a valid driver's license and capable of getting a commercial driver's

license.

? Other duties as assigned.

The employee frequently is required to sit and use hands to finger, handle or feel

objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and

The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 -50 pounds and occasionally lift

and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include

close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust

focus.
