Growing together.The Patient Service Representative is responsible for general clinic office functions that support efficient and effective patient care including patient registration, insurance verification, collection of applicable co-insurance and/or co-payments and scheduling of diagnostic and follow-up appointments and answering phones.Schedule: Monday - Friday: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.Location: 7151 Marsh Road, Indianapolis, INPrimary Responsibilities:Answers telephones and either responds to the inquiry, directs the caller to the appropriate personnel, or initiates a triage slip for response by medical personnel; retrieves voicemails and answers/routes them as neededAnswers incoming questions about the organization and provides callers with the address, directions, and other informationSchedules appointments and enters the appointment date and time into a computerized scheduler or appointment bookTelephones or writes patients to remind them of appointmentsMails new patient information packetsInstructs new patients in completion of medical history and information forms; collects updates from current patientsSchedules follow-up appointments and in-office referralsGreets and directs patients, sales people, and visitorsReceives payments on accountsMakes change, cashes checks, and issues receipts to patientsReviews medical records for completeness, assembles records into standard order, and files records in designated areas according to applicable alphabetic and numeric filing systemsLocates, signs out, and delivers medical records requested by all departments; selects and packages files for movement, transfer, and permanent storageRequests/pulls patient medical records for next-day appointments; files medical records upon completionRecords when appointments have been filled or canceledEnters patient information into the computer; retrieves data as neededConfers with doctors, nurses, and other health personnel to ensure complete, current, and accurate medical recordsConfirms patient insurance eligibility with insurance companiesReceives forms documenting patient visits and computes the amount due from each patient and the insurance companyRecords payments received and prepares reports of transactionsUpdates the billing system to include details on the services provided or procedures performed on the patientReceives, sorts, and routes mail, and maintains and routes publicationsAll other duties as assignedWhat are the reasons to consider working for UnitedHealth Group?
