IT Cloud Systems Engineer

Hummingbirds Innovations is seeking a talented IT Cloud Systems Engineer to join our team. As an IT Cloud Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based infrastructure and systems for our clients. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful deployment and operation of cloud-based solutions.

Geospatial - 5-10+ years' experience working with proprietary and open-source geospatial data formats.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing and implementing scalable and secure cloud infrastructure
• Deploying and managing cloud-based systems and applications
• Monitoring and troubleshooting cloud environments to ensure optimal performance and availability
• Implementing security best practices and ensuring compliance with industry standards
• Collaborating with development teams to optimize application performance in cloud environments
• Providing technical support and guidance to internal teams
  
  

The ideal candidate should have a strong background in cloud technologies, such as AWS or Azure, and experience in system administration and networking. They should possess excellent problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Requirements

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience as a Cloud Systems Engineer or similar role
• Development - Experience with geospatial software APl's for data transformation and analysis:
• Esri ArcPoly
• GOAL
• GeoPandas
• Optionally, PySAL or MovingPandas
• Data Automation - Experience with automating geospatial data workflows through tools like:
• ArcGIS GeoEvent Server
• ArcGIS Workflow Manager
• Apache Nifi
• Geospatial Databases/Datastores:
• ArcGIS Enterprise Database
• Postgres
• GeoMesa
• Experience with ETL tools such as SAFE FM
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, PowerShell)
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols
• Understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines
• Security certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Security - Specialty) are a plus
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
