Title: Engineering Manager

Location: Toledo, Ohio

Direct Hire

Starting Pay: Up to $130k; depending on experience

Engineering Manager

Roles & Responsibilities:

Direct Machine Shop personnel through Group Leader for work assignments, priorities, performance feedback, tooling needs, training & development, equipment, etc.

Lead and manage capital projects including (but limited to) new equipment installation, facility improvements, technology, regular updates to Leadership, etc.

Direct engineers for job assignments including tooling repair, tool development, drawing updates, modeling, checklists, customer concerns, planning workbench assignments, NRE follow up, quality investigations, CAD work, projects, etc. to properly manage workload and performance.

Develop, coach, and mentor engineers to increase design & drawing quality and efficiency.

Participate in weekly Sales & Engineering meeting. Own and drive KPI s for engineering & Machine Shop. Report updates at the monthly meeting to Plant Manager and Leadership Team.

Be first approver for time off requests from engineering.

Oversee the development of the Machine Shop and engineering talent including machine operations, drawing reading, Haas & other programming, machine maintenance, cad, etc.

Oversee the ordering of parts and supplies as needed for Engineering and Machine Shop repairs and production.

Function as the main point of contact for all production, tool repairs, tool maintenance, sales, and technical questions from Machine Shop and Engineering needs. Including CNC Programming CNC machines and CNC laser.

Oversee safety and promptly address any safety concerns in Machine Shop or any other area as requested by Leadership. Participate as requested in safety team meetings.

Exercise financial responsibility when ordering tools, supplies, equipment, estimates, travel, etc.

Ensure desired workload is completed by Machine Shop and Engineers. Complete design & drawings if needed to ensure safe, smooth, and efficient operations from Engineering and Tooling perspectives.

Other tasks as assigned by Leadership.

Final Approval of Engineering Drawings.

Reports to Plant Manager on organization chart.


Priorities:

Planning workbench in EPICOR assignments & quality by self or by Engineering team.

NRE and customer concerns.

Tooling repairs and design.

Manage workload for Engineers and Machinist -regular prioritization, material management, production impact, etc. to ensure all objectives as assigned by Leadership are met.

Capital projects.

Regular performance feedback and management for Engineers and Machinist.
