The Fleet Management Division has been recognized by the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) as a "Blue Seal of Excellence" facility since 2006 and by General Motors Company as an authorized warranty center. The fleet technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing Fire Apparatus to include troubleshooting and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems; reading and understanding hydraulic and electrical schematics; troubleshooting and repairing diesel engines (Cat, Cummins, Detroit); and maintaining routine maintenance schedules. Commercial and diesel vehicle, heavy equipment, and machinery experience are highly desirable.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D;
  • Valid Driver's License;
  • Four (4) years of experience maintaining and repairing fire apparatus/ heavy equipment and vehicles;
  • Technological and electrical skills and experience repairing and maintaining specialized equipment found in ambulances, fire trucks, and other emergency vehicles.
  • Commercial Driver's License preferred
  • Emergency vehicle technician preferred
