Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role as an Automotive & Diesel Instructor located in Aurora, IL. As an instructor, you will play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of automotive and diesel technicians. Your day-to-day tasks will include delivering lectures, conducting practical training sessions, preparing lesson plans, evaluating student performance,leading by example, and providing guidance and support to students as they develop their skills and knowledge in the field.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 3 years of industry experience in the Automotive and/or Diesel Industry as a Journeyman Technician or equivalent is required
  • A minimum of 2 years Auto/Diesel Industry related teaching in an adult learner/post secondary institution is required.
  • Clean driving record and valid Drivers License
  • Strong knowledge and expertise in automotive and diesel systems, including engines, transmissions, electrical systems, fuel systems, and diagnostics
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively deliver lectures and engage with students
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose automotive and diesel issues
  • A passion for teaching and mentoring students, patience, compassion and the ability to create a positive and supportive learning environment
  • Proficiency in technology and software relevant to the automotive and diesel industry
  • ASE Master Certified or the ability to achieve current Master status within 90 days of start date and remain current with Industry technology as it evolves through further training and certifications.
  • This role requires physical labor including standing for extended periods of time, bending, squatting, crouching, and lifting up to 50 lbs on a regular basis
  • The ability to adapt to unexpected changes seamlessly
