Kelly Science & Clinical is seeking a Research Associate/Senior Research Associate for a contract-to-hire position at a cutting-edge client in San Diego, CA. Pay: $30-35/hour+ DOE


Overview

This client is an industry-leading biotech company focused on improving human health by developing breakthrough neuroprotective therapeutics. The client is known for its novel approaches to treating highly prevalent, blinding diseases that currently have no good therapeutic alternatives.

In this role, you ll be working with a passionate team of leaders, colleagues, and partners to assist in activities related to AAV production and analytics, including plasmid cloning and design, vector production, analytical testing, and laboratory management. This role will give you an opportunity to contribute to the development of new gene therapy products, helping deliver innovative therapies to patients and their families.

Schedule: Day shift

Responsibilities:

  • maintenance of cells and cell culture for viral production and cell-based assays.
  • of AAV vectors and analytical testing including ddPCR, DLS, and ELISAs.
  • development including cloning and propagating plasmid DNA and routine molecular diagnostics such as restriction digest analysis and sequencing.
  • general laboratory management activities including inventory management and equipment maintenance.
  • in designing experiments and drafting protocols and reports as part of a collaborative team.
  • accurate and detailed experimental notes in an electronic laboratory notebook.

Qualifications:

  • degree in biology, Microbiology, or related technical field strongly preferred.
  • 3-4 years experience within a laboratory setting performing molecular or cell-based experiments. OR 1-2 years' experience with a master s degree.
  • with plasmid cloning, propagation, and/or various nucleic acid/protein analytical techniques including, but not limited to, qPCR/ddPCR, western blotting, or ELISA.
  • hands-on involvement with aseptic technique and adherent or suspension cell culture (mammalian preferred).
  • work documenting laboratory results in written or electronic laboratory notebooks.

Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities and deadlines.
