POSITION OVERVIEW:

Black Eagle Consulting, LLC (BEC) provides geotechnical engineering, laboratory materials testing, construction inspection/testing and non-destructive examination services. BEC is looking to hire a Business Development Manager. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, detailed oriented, and has a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the AEC industry. Skills necessary to excel in the position include, but are not limited to, working knowledge of customer relationship management (CRM), business development, proposal sourcing, writing, and a comprehensive grasp on opportunity identification, external outreach, and building relationships. This is an excellent opportunity for the right individual to contribute to the firm s growth and development.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Utilizes corporate lead generating services and other business development approaches to pre-identify Opportunities and build pipeline.
  • Coordinates with National Business Development Director in the identification and local positioning for mega pursuits.
  • Leads and coordinates with doer/sellers with major pursuit capture planning and positioning activities for BEC.
  • Manages Opportunity entry and data hygiene within SalesForce CRM.
  • Coordinates and attends local business development functions to gather market intel, build client/partner relationships, and promote BEC.
  • Ensures all local employee resumes are maintained updated and project descriptions are written for key projects.
  • Manages and coordinates the development and update of local marketing materials.
  • Collaborates with the team to develop proposal and teaming strategies, including the identification of differentiators, relevant past performance, client hot button issues, and competitor strengths/weaknesses during pre-solicitation release phases and throughout the proposal process.
  • Coordinates and supports the Corporate Proposal Coordinator for production/writing/editing of Statements of Qualifications and Proposals.
  • Works with Proposal Coordinators by attending kickoff meetings and other proposal process meetings, including color team reviews, etc.
  • Provides proposal content that promotes BEC s competitive advantages/differentiators by working with team members to understand market positions, competition, current capabilities, etc.
  • Works with subject matter experts across the enterprise to help them develop clear, concise, and compliant content.
  • Participates in the preparation of client and short-list interview presentations and follow-up submissions.
  • Takes post-proposal responsibility for documenting and disseminating lessons learned, debriefing information, and proposal process improvement suggestions to the Corporate Marketing Director, and others as appropriate.
  • Manages or conducts special assignments related to marketing and business development.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Collaborative, positive attitude as a team player with high level of organization skills, and ability to work independently.
  • Highly skilled in time management and the ability to be flexible/multi-task under pressure to quickly shift direction to meet multiple project deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities, with ability to effectively lead, collaborate, and engage multi-disciplinary teams and colleagues at all levels of organization, as well as partners, subconsultants, and clients as required.
  • Proven track record in client development and relationship building.
  • Understands the procurement process across multiple state and government agencies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Performs stated job responsibilities under minimal supervision.
  • A bachelor s degree in English, journalism, communications, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in proposal and presentation development, preferably with an architectural, engineering, or construction firm.
