JT4 China Lake is seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Engineer. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining the cybersecurity architecture of a program, organization, system, or enclave, and is accountable to the PM/SO. The Information Systems Security Engineer will have expert technical knowledge in security engineering, IT systems engineering design concepts and principles.

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepare our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.

Job SummaryEssential Functions/Duties

The ISSE will be responsible for performing the following functions/duties:

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of a system's cybersecurity solutions.
  • Identify AO and SCA cognizance of the system as well as any specific authorization requirements such as reciprocity, cross domain, and applicable overlays to support System Categorization.
  • Identify and tailor the security control baseline with applicable overlays.
  • Assist with development, maintenance, and tracking of the SP.
  • Lead the security control implementation and testing efforts.
  • Perform vulnerability-level risk assessment on the POA M/CAP.
  • Ensure the execution of any security testing required as part of A A or annual reviews.
  • Ensure the mitigation and closure of open vulnerabilities under the system's change control process.
  • Oversee cybersecurity testing to assess security controls and recording security control compliance status during the continuous monitoring phase of the lifecycle.
  • Ensure data entered into the eMASS record and POA M is consistent with implementation results.
  • Utilize the Collaboration Board in the eMASS workflow for all formal coordination during the RMF process. Detailed findings will be posted in the Artifacts tab (if necessary).
  • Document and provide all requested rework to the PSO/Program Management Office (PMO) for review.
  • Participate in the system engineering process to ensure the systems security and cybersecurity requirements, design and testing are properly addressed throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Perform analysis and evaluation to design, implement, test and field secure systems, networks, and architectures.

Working Conditions

Work is performed in a typical office environment with no unusual hazards. Occasional lifting (up to 20 pounds), constant sitting and use of a computer terminal; constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication; and constant mental alertness are required.

Routine travel to remote company work locations and work in field environment with occasional overnight assignment may be required.

RequirementsEducation, Technical, and Work Experience

A bachelor's degree in Computer / Information Technology, or equivalent academic/technical training/certification; DoD 8570.01-M/IAM Level III and IASAE level II compliance; Cybersecurity Service Provider certifications within DoD 8570.01-M must obtain upon hire date; and the following certifications: CISM, CISSP, GSLC, or CCISO are preferred for this position. Must possess a minimum of seven years of Information Assurance System Architect and Engineering.

Additional desired qualifications include Certified Ethical Hacker (Master) or Certified Enterprise Risk Professional (CEH/ CERP) and Project Management Professional (PMP).

In addition, an Information Security Systems Engineer must possess the following qualifications:

  • Subject matter expert-level experience supporting various system configurations such as standalone, local area networks (LANs), and wide area networks (WANs).
  • Demonstrated experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) process, eMASS, ACAS, SCAP, STIG, Cyber Risk Assessments (CRA), Cyber Table top (CTT) or related process.
  • Verifiable conceptual and practical understanding of IT Infrastructure designs, technologies, products, and services.
  • Demonstrated experience formulating and/or interpreting cyber threat analysis of adversary techniques, tactics, and procedures used to disrupt computer networks.
  • Demonstated written and verbal communication skills, analytical ability, judgment, and the ability to work effectively with the customer and Cybersecurity Engineering Support Team.
  • Demonstrated experience with planning, designing, executing, and assessing discussion-based exercises.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and work under strict deadlines.


Salary

The expected pay range for this position is $108,700.80 annually to $167,641.76 annually.

The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay. JT4 LLC considers factors such as (but not limited to) responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.
