Our client, a top Houston based general contractor, is looking for an experienced Scheduler to manage and maintain schedules for their Houston based commercial construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain an in-depth understanding of project/program requirements.
- Develop project schedules using documents and blueprints, with minimal supervision, for review by experienced personnel.
- Review proposal schedules from subcontractors and vendors to ensure alignment with project schedule durations and workflow.
- Assume overall responsibility for assigned project schedules.
- Provide schedules to subcontractors and suppliers in support of contracts or bid documents.
- Attend scheduling meetings as the scheduling professional for Austin.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure timely deliveries of equipment and materials.
- Develop and integrate procurement tasks into overall project schedules.
- Identify opportunities for schedule enhancement or recovery in collaboration with project staff, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Develop impact schedules and analyses as required due to change orders or changes in scope.
- Assist project team in documenting and reporting to the Owner or responsible party.
- Analyze the schedule to minimize project impact and assist in maintaining historical schedule data for Austin projects.
- Report project schedule status to project team and Austin executives.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction science, architecture, or relevant discipline preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three to five years of scheduling experience, with some field experience preferred, in roles such as Scheduler, Project Manager, or Superintendent.
- Knowledge of construction materials, means, and methods.
- Familiarity with building systems, materials, and the logical sequence of construction.
- Strong logical and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency in relevant scheduling techniques and software.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Thorough and reliable with strong organizational skills.
