Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated computational biologist/ bioinformatician to join our team to develop and build analytical and informatics solutions that enable accurate diagnosis.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop novel computational methods for analyses of multi-omics data; identify gaps in existing methods/tools and develop novel solutions to bridge them.
Complement the business development team in technical meetings and interactions with the customers; develop exemplary case studies on multi-omics data to validate and demonstrate the novelty and quality of the solutions.
Author publications by working with external academic collaborators and present at conferences
Work with the software engineering team to implement the solutions in production-quality software.
Qualifications
Master s or Ph.D. degree, preferably in computational biology, bioinformatics, data/computer science, machine learning/AI, or statistics.
At least 3 years of hands-on experience in developing bioinformatics pipelines, implementation of algorithms for NGS data, and analysis of omics data.
Understand typical pipelines and methods, such as RNA-seq, sequence alignment, genome assembly, variant calling, etc.
Familiar with general bioinformatics software and can investigate/install/understand the usage of state-of-the-art methods and tools.
Familiar with the statistical methods in genomic analysis and the basics of machine learning/AI methods.
Coding and software engineering:
Fluency in Python programming language, and ability to quickly learn and program in a new language when required.
Familiar with software testing, code review practices, version control systems such as Git, and container deployments.
Preferably had experience working with the cloud computing environment and/or Linux servers
Needs to be driven and has a get-things-done mindset and can work in a collaborative environment.
