Corporate events held at ICON Park offer a unique and memorable setting for businesses and organizations looking to host meetings, conferences, team-building activities, and other special occasions. ICON Park has hosted some of the biggest conventions and clients in the U.S. such as AAHOA, MegaCon, SAP Sapphire, Google, ULTA, Amazon and others.


JOB PURPOSE: As Manager of Event Sales, your goal will be to meet or exceed sales targets and help generate revenue for tenants while delivering exceptional customer service.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


  • Sales Strategy Development: Develop and execute sales strategies to meet revenue targets for assigned events. This includes identifying key target markets, industries, and potential clients.
  • Annual goals and Gross Profit Plans: Determine annual goals and gross profit plans by implementing marketing strategies; analyzing trends and results.
  • Collaborate with tenants: most of the events are in tenant venues, so this role requires leadership skills and creativity.
  • Prospecting and Lead Generation: Research and identify potential corporate clients, sponsors, exhibitors, and attendees through various channels such as online research, networking events, and industry publications. Utilize cold calling, email campaigns, and other outreach methods to generate leads.
  • Sales Volume: Maintain sales volume, establish product mix, and adjust selling prices by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to maximize renewal rates and upsell opportunities. Provide exceptional customer service and serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries and requests.
  • Proposal Development: Create customized sponsorship and exhibitor packages tailored to the needs and objectives of each client. Present proposals in a compelling manner, highlighting the value proposition and benefits of partnership.
  • Negotiation and Closing: Negotiate terms and pricing with clients to secure sponsorship agreements, exhibitor space, and ticket sales. Close deals in a timely manner while ensuring alignment with company objectives and policies. Paying special attention to problematic clients, qualifying leads, and developing ideas for leads.
  • Event Promotion: Collaborate with marketing and event planning teams to promote events and generate interest among potential sponsors, exhibitors, and attendees. Leverage social media, digital advertising, and other marketing channels to drive awareness and participation.
  • Sales Reporting and Analysis: Track sales activities, pipeline, and performance metrics using Tripleseat or other tools. Generate regular reports to assess progress towards sales targets and identify areas for improvement.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to be promoted to Director in 1-2 years
  • Ability to demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of increasing revenues, controlling costs, providing a return on investment while consistently delivering a high level of service.
  • Ability and desire to work closely with representatives of ICON Park tenant venues
  • Knowledge of ICON Park property, and venues.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relations with various team members, vendors, and guests.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • College degree
  • Minimum three years hospitality/sales experience or the equivalent amount of industry experience; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Team player, self-motivator, and independent worker.
