**Job Summary**

This new position is available due to acquisitions, organic growth, and centralization. Reporting to a respected and dynamic leader, this position is part of Supply Chain which reports to our COO. The **Senior Category Manager** **Transportation & Logistics** is responsible for leveraging spend across the business, creating and executing strategic cost savings projects and driving out cost within Human Capital. This will include professional services, consulting, contingent labor, technology, and managed services within the Human Resources function. The role will focus on implementing effective sourcing strategies that meet global business objectives and drive significant spend and working capital improvement.

**Primary Duties & Responsibilities**

* Develops & leads strategy for centralized indirect materials professional services

* Engaging functional and business leaders from each Spectrum Brands business unit and enabling functions to ensure business requirements and functional metrics are met.

* Identifies sourcing opportunities with functional leaders for cost improvement through competitive market pricing, innovation and process improvement.

* Performs and project manages sourcing events from inception to implementation. Includes:

+ Project charter / discovery. Create team (stakeholders), review spend data and define sourcing strategy.

+ Identify potential suppliers; prepare and conduct RFXs

+ Perform competitive bidding process including make vs Buy | In-source vs. outsource analysis.

+ Negotiations for best overall total cost of indirect materials, service and delivery along with contract negotiations in the form of terms and conditions or supplier agreements.

+ Adhere to all FDA regulated standards and Quality Policy.

+ Present supplier recommendation for approval and contract award.

+ Contract implementation.

* Manage strategic supplier relationships (i.e. 3rd party agencies, service, and material providers).

* Evaluate, measure, and report Supplier performance metrics and scorecards.

* Contract reviews for T&C compliance, SOW (Purpose, description, pricing, delivery, supplier and Spectrums delivery).

**Education and Experience Profile**

* 10 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain and 5 years of commodity management experience in Indirect Sourcing for professional services specifically within human resources, marketing, travel & entertainment and related service categories required; preferably in multi-site operating environment; global experience a plus.

* Experience in structuring contracts, collaborating with Legal reviews and managing business relationships

* Contract negotiation and management expertise to review and negotiate for Terms and Conditions (T&C) compliance, and various supplier agreements, including Statement of Works (SOW).

* A Certificate Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or other related professional certification, completed or in progress is desired.

* Experience in supply chain procurement operations and/or management is plus.

**Required Skills**

* Teamwork must be willing and able to work closely with other departments, peers, etc.

* Considerable knowledge in indirect sourcing categories; ability to understand supply, markets, price, and commodity trends, with the ability to understand market events and develop both long-range strategy and short-term contingency plans.

* Proven negotiation skills.

* Strong analytical skills required.

* Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to make presentations and influence people at all levels of the organization.

* Ability to manage multiple projects and activities that often have competing priorities.

* Global citizenship awareness as it relates to culture and customs.

* Advanced proficiency in MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel & Outlook.

**Work Environment**

* Working conditions are normal for an office environment.

* Travel within North America (US, Mexico and Canada) up to 15% average per year.
