Role: Solar Project Development Analyst

Location: Remote (Must reside in California)


The Solar Project Development Analyst is a key player in advancing renewable energy solutions, focusing on solar and storage projects. This role combines sales operations, project development, data analysis, and advanced solutions to drive efficiency and growth within our client's projects.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

General Sales Operation Functions:

  • Lead post-project communication with customers, concentrating on energy usage assessment, site evaluation, and solution application.
  • Coordinate and deliver various sales materials for potential clients, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to clarify sales deliverables specifics and value propositions to customers.
  • Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) for sales deliverables.


Data Analysis Functions:

  • Retrieve, evaluate, and summarize onsite customer energy data using advanced analytical tools.
  • Conduct thorough analyses using energy data, utility rate information, and Solutioning outputs to accurately estimate projected project savings.
  • Assist in interpreting utility, regulatory, and incentive-related updates, integrating findings into internal analytics tools and deliverable templates.


Solar and Advanced Solutioning:

  • Support the development of analytic tools to expand Advanced renewable energy Solutions.
  • Independently model various renewable energy technologies to optimize financial return based on client operations, objectives, and available incentives.
  • Lead the evaluation of potential Advanced Solution suppliers, overseeing pre-qualification and vendor/contractor selection processes.
  • Serve as the primary company representative on customer calls, explaining pre-design considerations, analytics, scope, and savings related to proposed Advanced Solutions.
  • Drive efficiency and standardization across internal departments for future Advanced Solutions implementation.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor s degree or equivalent experience in engineering, energy, environmental, or sustainability field.
  • 3+ years of experience in renewable energy development and EPC environment, preferably in solar + storage projects.
  • Comprehensive understanding of renewable project lifecycle, including project engineering, procurement, interconnection, construction, and post-installation asset management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly MS Teams and advanced Excel functions.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently plan, organize, and complete assignments on time.
  • Strong attention to detail, project, and time management skills.
  • Effective collaboration across internal and external teams to develop project solutions.
  • Proficient verbal, written, and presentation skills, communicating clearly with credibility and confidence.
  • Adaptability to shifting priorities and willingness to embrace new or evolving responsibilities.
  • Strong critical thinking and analysis skills to solve complex problems.
  • Basic understanding of commercial utility tariff structures.
  • Proactive approach to improving existing processes and procedures.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend optimal solutions based on a variety of options.
  • Familiarity with solar and energy storage incentives and revenue streams.


Preferred:

  • 5+ years of experience in energy development and EPC environment.
  • Experience using HOMER software, Energy Toolbase, or other renewable energy design and energy modeling software.
  • General understanding/experience in carbon markets.
  • Previous experience with Salesforce or similar CRMs.
