Our growing, state-of-the-art facility in Erie has an exciting opportunity for a Procurement Supervisor to join our management team. The Procurement Supervisor must be a self-starter, willing to roll up their sleeves and dig into the details. We are a lean organization, so although this is a management level position, the Procurement Supervisor is in the weeds and is a doer - not a reviewer of others' work.

Reporting to the Director of Strategic Sourcing, the Procurement Supervisor manages the purchasing activities of the Erie facility including strategic sourcing of new and existing suppliers, contract negotiations, vendor management, and supplier development. As a working manager, the primary responsibility is on the procurement of all materials (raw materials, packaging materials, plant material, etc.), supplies, and equipment required in the most cost-effective and timely manner, ensuring quality and delivery consistent with 4Front standards.

The Procurement Supervisor must develop and continuously enhance a deep understanding of our customers, markets, manufacturing processes, capabilities, and technologies that will enable effective use of time and good decisions in the purchasing function. This position requires someone with a "roll up the sleeves" approach, who is action-oriented, and takes the initiative with a sense of urgency.

**Only candidates with 5+ years of previous manufacturing experience will be considered**

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Purchase raw materials, packaging materials, plant materials, supplies and services at the lowest cost consistent with quality and quantity requirements
  • Solicit verbal and written quotes for the purchase of assigned commodities and services
  • Identify long lead items and initiate material sourcing to meet build schedules
  • Issue purchase orders and agreements that accurately reflect price, schedule, terms and conditions as negotiated with suppliers
  • Perform vendor evaluation and award selection, assuring lowest total cost commensurate with quality and delivery objectives
  • Identify opportunities to reduce cost, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted negotiations


  • Communicate price variances to all stakeholders
  • Regularly review and audit purchase orders placed by other members of the team
  • Help to resolve packing slip errors, receiving shortages and invoice discrepancies
  • Research and recommend methods, materials, and alternatives for improved delivery timelines and/or cost savings
  • Coach and develop team by providing ongoing feedback to improve overall Purchasing team performance
  • Actively participate in selection and onboarding of new team members
  • Work closely with cross functional team on issues of Engineering, Program Management, Quality, Quoting, Production, and Accounting
  • Track supplier performance through the supplier scorecard system, monitoring on time delivery, quality, and responsiveness
