Military technical innovation is critical to defending our territories and those of our allies. The US Army is currently exploring the insertion of leading-edge technology into their legacy fleet of vehicles to improve the situational awareness, agility, autonomy, and lethality of US Military ground-based combat operations. By converting material, fuel and equipment transport trucks into robots, Army leadership expects to reduce the need for soldiers to be put in harm's way. Among the duties for Heavy Equipment Mechanic listed below we are looking for a mechanic that can also drive heavy equipment and ground military vehicles. ASRC is looking for candidates with experience and knowledge test driving and maintaining advanced autonomous transport vehicles as well as wheeled and tracked ground vehicles. This candidate would also need to have the ability to evaluate and report performance after driving said vehicles and noting any problems, successes, or ideas for improvement. While testing vehicles, safety driving or performing maintenance on vehicles, we also require this candidate to have excellent communication skills and customer service as they may encounter leadership personnel or customers.
