Grounds Control of Huntsville is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Superintendent with a background as a Field Engineer, specializing in site work. As a Construction Superintendent, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of construction projects, with a focus on site preparation, earthwork, and infrastructure development.
Responsibilities:
* Manage and supervise construction activities, ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications.
* Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure successful project execution.
* Oversee site preparation, earthwork, grading, excavation, and utility installations.
* Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality control and identify any potential issues or delays.
* Collaborate with project stakeholders to resolve conflicts and address any changes or modifications to the project scope.
* Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and progress reports.
* If required, pre-qualify and hire all field labor.
* Manage all field labor to accomplish designated tasks.
* Provide leadership and guidance to the construction team, including subcontractors and field staff.
* Ensure that all work is completed according to industry standards and best practices.
* Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and effective communication.
* Review and evaluate all subcontracts and vendor purchase orders prepared by the Project Manager.
* Enforce jobsite safety to comply with all OSHA regulations and project Safety Program.
Requirements:
* Proven experience as a Construction Superintendent with a specialization in site work, dirt, and infrastructure development.
* Background as a Field Engineer is highly desirable.
* Solid understanding of construction processes, techniques, and regulations.
* Strong knowledge of site preparation, earthwork, grading, and utility installations.
* Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and collaborate with various stakeholders.
* Certificates, Licenses, Registrations OSHA 30 Hour preferred. If not current, to receive within the first year of employment and keep current.
* Proficient in project management software and tools.
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
* Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
* Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required.
