Aviation Assembly Technician

Location: Huntsville, AL

Salary: $29.70/hr

Industry: Aerospace/Manufacturing

Employment Type: 6 month assignment w/ potential for extension or conversion

Shift: Monday to Thursday, 5AM to 3:30PM, OT likely available on Fridays

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
  • 0 to 3 years in assembly, test, automotive, rocket engine or jet engine testing, or rocket engine test facility support.
  • Must be mechanically inclined - experience using hand-tools and torque wrenches.
  • Prior assembly and testing background in Automotive or Aerospace industry a huge plus.
  • Ability to work with test and flight safety critical hardware.
  • Ability to work with standard mechanical tools and shop fabrication equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and schematics.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.; work in adverse weather conditions; climb stairs and ladders.
  • Read and interpret engineering instruction by use of computer applications (Jules).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Responsibilities:
  • Reviewing, editing, and following test procedures and processes.
  • Operation of test facility and ground support equipment.
  • Working with engineers on design concepts and facility improvements.
  • Planning and executing assembly for complex mechanical systems.
  • Safely working with hazardous chemicals and high pressure systems.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvements to promote workplace safety.
  • Other duties as assigned or otherwise beneficial to fulfilling the mission
