Position DescriptionTitle:Personal Banker IDepartment:Retail BankingReports to:Branch ManagerSupervises:NoneClassification:Non-exemptDate Prepared: May 14, 2024Summary / ObjectiveThe Personal Banker is responsible for providing exceptional customer service by using excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products, understanding the customer s unperceived need s, and communicating effectively with team members.Experience & Education Requirements:Bachelor s degree or equivalent sales & service experienceGood interpersonal, communication & computer skillsMultilingual speaking preferredEssential Job Functions:Provides a complete range of customer service including opening new accounts, explaining available bank products and services, and gathering customer information to process new and existing accountsResponsible for providing comprehensive electronic banking support to customersProactively interviews customers to identify all their perceived and unperceived financial needsWorking accurately and efficiently with strong written and verbal skills to complete transactions within a reasonable period of timeMaintains knowledge of branch policies and proceduresParticipates in activities for generating new business such as special eventsSuccessfully completing IRA and CD transactions; handling teller transactions as part of working with the customers to satisfy their needsDeliver clarity to customers through simplicity, guidance, and know-howInterface with customers via telephone or in personMust be able to support multiple branch locations as neededAdherence to all operational, regulatory and security requirements, directives and procedures while minimizing lossesContributing to the achievement of goals through individual and group efforts and by offering ideas for improving processes and exceeding customer expectationsRequired knowledge, skills & abilities:Basic understanding of financial products and services and the ability to learn moreAssessing customer needs, providing solid recommendations, and building customer relationships to optimize sales opportunities with new and existing customersEffective written and verbal communication skills and computer skillsMust possess a professional demeanor including business attire, courtesy, tact and conflict management skillsAbility to apply critical thinking and problem solving skillsAbility to adapt to changing demands and requirementsSuccessful completion of in-house training programs or other approved training programsCompliance with BSA regulations as appropriate to the positionPhysical Demands and Work Environment:Ability to use standard equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiersRequires manual dexterity, the ability to move and lift up to 25 pounds, (i.e. cash drawers, money/coins)Occasionally access the outside of the Bank building to service the ATM and drive-up areaOccasional local travel to other worksites is requiredSitting or standing for longer periods of timeMust be able to work schedules that meet the needs of the Bank, which may include early morning, evening and /or weekend hoursReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Other DutiesThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
