Material Handler - Stock Cutter - 2nd Shift

We are searching for an experienced Material Handler - Stock Cutter - 2nd Shift at our Keene facility.

Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Primary Responsibility: Position is responsible for the efficient flow of raw stock to manufacturing. All stock is received, stored, identified, cut, and transacted according to established policies and procedures.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Prioritize work and sequence of set-ups to achieve maximum efficiency.
  • Receive all raw stock verifying that stock delivered matches the description on the receiving document and that stock is in acceptable condition as determined by visual inspection.
  • Complete all Receiving documentation and process receipts in the ERP system.
  • Label all incoming raw stock with lot label, as applicable. Color code for easy identification.
  • Store raw stock in an organized manner to ensure an efficient flow, rotating stock as needed and scrapping per established guidelines.
  • Cut raw stock according to cut date and accurately transact material issued in the ERP system.
  • Clearly mark cut material with identifying Job number and operation due date.
  • Conduct pre-measure; assist in periodic and annual physical inventory of raw stock.
  • Perform routine maintenance of band saws and any other equipment used in the performance of regular job duties.
  • Maintain organized and clean working area - Inform supervisor of any equipment defects.
  • Work in a safe manner at all times following established policies and procedures.
  • Work with co-workers as a team player. Communicate effectively and efficiently with co-workers.
  • Assist in other areas of manufacturing as required.

Education/Experience

Required Qualifications:

  • GED/high school diploma
  • Vocational education with working knowledge of steel and aluminum identification and blueprint reading desired.

Other Candidate Qualifications

  • Ability to follow written or verbal instructions and reach job-related decisions following existing policies, procedures, or precedents.
  • Mathematical aptitude in calculations involving fractions and decimals
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clerical personnel and transportation vendors. Legibly complete required paperwork.
  • Computer literacy is required.

Physical Requirements

  • This is an on-site position located in Keene, NH
  • This is a 2nd shift opportunity.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit 8-10 hours a day.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Work in conditions typical of a manufacturing environment noise, dust, odors
  • Able to wear prescribed personal protective equipment safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.
  • Be able to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Good, corrected vision, depth perception, color vision, and field of vision.
  • Strenuous position requires continuous bending, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, lifting, pulling, twisting, grasping, hand/finger dexterity, eye to hand and physical coordination.

Work Environment

  • Excessive noise and dust of a typical machine shop atmosphere.
  • Equipment moving hazard of forklifts, transportation vehicles, and moving raw stock.
  • Significant work pace which varies by the amount of product shipped on a daily basis.
