Location: New Hudson, MI, US
* Perform effective hand-overs from one shift to the next
* Inform team about daily targets, current issues, and quality alerts
* Appropriate distribution of tasks among the available team based on the daily production plan
* Coordinate and manage the daily operation of production processes within the shift to ensure best possible results
* Ongoing monitoring of production outputs for quality and quantity and taking appropriate action in case of issues in line with Daily Action process guidelines
* Act as interface between Production line and support services such as Quality, SCM/Line Feeder, ME / MT
* Correction of malfunctions in the line as well as initiation of maintenance and servicing of machines and equipment (TPM) according to standard work
* Perform and document process inspections in line with instructions and respond to results accordingly
* Identify and implement improvements and procedure updates in the area in line with procedures
* Execution and tracking of induction and workstation training for (new) team members in line with process
* Interface with Human Resources on all issues regarding time keeping, attendance and policy and discipline issues
* Monitor and maintain all safety equipment, Webasto owned equipment and tools
* Escalate issues when all other opportunities have been exhausted
* Relieve operators as needed
* Maintains a positive work environment and ensures colleague compliance to all applicable standards and instructions particularly, but not exclusively relating to workplace and environmental safety, product safety and quality and employee guidebook/anti-harassment
* Approximately 3 years work experience in a shift-based, manufacturing environment
* Basic knowledge of (automotive) quality systems and health, safety & environmental requirements including importance of customer specific requirements, significant/critical characteristics (SC/CC) and product safety along with ITAF 16949 requirements
* Ability to identify concerns and related root cause to identify and implement corrective actions
* Able to motivate a team to deliver exceptional quality and performance
* Good communication skills (verbal & written)
* Awareness of emotional intelligence and how to manage and minimize impact on productivity
* Automotive experience in a highly automated production environment preferred
* Basic experience with Microsoft Office, SAP and MES systems commonly used in Production
* Previous experience and training in leading people in a manufacturing environment preferred
* Basic awareness of production processes in area of responsibility and applicable customer specific requirements
* Awareness of basic problem solving and continuous improvement tools
