About the Job

The Production Supervisor has shared responsibility with a Co-Leader for the performance of assigned manufacturing cells to influence desired actions to achieve sustained Operational Excellence in the value stream. Within their area of responsibility, the supervisor works with team leaders to execute daily management core principles of Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Cost to produce. The shift for this position is as follows: Sunday night- Thursday night, 9:00 PM- 6:00 AM. Salary range: $60,000- $70,000 annually.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • for monitoring key performance indicators for Safety, People, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Costs and executing corrective actions when KPIs deviate from standard.
  • employee behavior to create safe work cells through daily operator checks of work cells/equipment, performing safety audits, and elevating concerns to stakeholders for resolution. Lead root cause analysis following injuries, accidents, and near miss events. Coordinate with leadership team and EH&S Steering Committee to evaluate job hazards, workplace safety, equipment performance, and dust collection systems for proper operation.
  • contributor to onboarding, training and development, recognition, and coaching of work cell associates to foster culture and desired behaviors. Evaluate performance and conduct annual reviews on assigned work cell associates.Lead, train, evaluate employees using job instruction and resolve personnel issues through application of job relations methods.
  • quality system outputs through process and product audits, use control plan, and critical to quality documents. Correct quality deviations through remediation/retraining as needed.Work closely with Quality/CI team to facilitate continuous improvement.
  • on-time and in-full delivery to meet customer lead satisfaction. Work with counterparts to monitor production line, end-to-end and make timely adjustment as needed.
  • and report hourly production metric and reason for variation to facilitate return to target condition in timely manner. Use problem-solving methods to guide resolution by team members.
  • with leadership team members to initiate or coordinate inventory or cost control programs and reduce scrap generated during manufacturing process.
  • contributor of Continuous Improvement efforts and application of Lean tools such as daily management, 5S, and work cell readiness activities with other leaders and workforce.
  • practical knowledge of the quality systems, technological advances, or best practices related to wood manufacturing


Education and Required Experience

  • degree in disciplines related to manufacturing (preferred)
  • five years of manufacturing experience, including knowledge of lean practices, terminology, and systems
  • Office Suite, in particular Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, etc.
  • of 5 years of employee management
  • to problem solve, including quality, machine, and training issues
  • of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques a plus
  • and apply customer inputs from Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback to reduce cost of poor quality, increase first time through rates, and critical to quality elements in a manufacturing system
  • knowledge of machines, processes and tools required in manufacturing system. Monitor equipment performance through daily management system and correct deviation from performance parameters
