The Oliver Hotel in Oxford is seeking a warm and passionate Host/Hostess to join our team. You will be the face of the hotel, ensuring memorable and impactful experiences for all our guests. You will be an integral part of making sure each visitor's stay is enjoyable and efficient, offering a friendly welcome and addressing their needs promptly.
Responsibilities
Learn the menu, including the daily specials and accurately describe how dishes are prepared
Check the dining room constantly for cleanliness and organization and restock condiments on the table as necessary
Greet guests warmly as they enter to create a positive first impression of the restaurant
Help clear and wipe down tables and set up tables with utensils and glassware for the next party
Handle booking of reservations, be quick to solve seating problems, and troubleshoot any phone inquiries from customers
Qualifications
Excellent people skills, time management, organization skills, and the ability to handle customer requests and situations quickly with a pleasant demeanor
Adapt easily to working in a fast-paced team environment with long hours of standing on feet and moving around
Prior food services or hospitality service industry experience is preferred but not required
Strong work ethic
