Summary:

The Customer Service Specialist is an important part of the Junior Achievement team as you welcome and interact with visitors, vendors, staff, students, teachers, and volunteers daily. You will work directly with the Volunteer team, managing volunteer planning and organization, resulting in the successful implementation of our programs. In addition, you will work collaboratively with Programs, Development, and Operations teams to inspire and prepare 50,000+ local students to succeed in a global economy.

What you will do:

  • Greet all visitors to JA World Huizenga Center with a welcoming and helpful attitude. Most visitors are parents, community volunteers, teachers, students, and donors.
  • Ensure visitors complete Visitor Management check in process.
  • Represent JA with the highest of customer service standards to guests.
  • Receive calls to the main phone line and transfer calls as needed.
  • Direct deliveries to appropriate locations for acceptance
  • Communicate with staff regarding meetings and tours and register guests.
  • Communicate with student transportation company for the daily drop off and pick up of visiting schools.
  • Assist with the setup and planning of meetings and events.
  • Manage inventory, budget, and sales of merchandise and snacks sold through the JA Store, including cash and credit transactions.
  • Count and record all deposits weekly and provide deposits to the Finance Manager
  • Provide support on other special projects such as special events, data entry, office organization, etc.
  • Work with the Community Outreach Manager to coordinate and communicate with organizational volunteers (approximately 5,000/year)
  • Manage the administrative side of the online volunteer management system.
  • Ensure volunteer background checks are complete.
  • Ensure volunteer data is accurate and complete.
  • Help ensure a quality volunteer experience for the approximately 70 volunteers who visit daily.
  • Daily setup and cleanup of coffee station for volunteer area.
  • Compose, prepare, and edit correspondence, reports, and other documents utilizing Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • High School diploma or equivalent experience is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year Receptionist and/or Customer Service experience.
  • Experience in database/CRM usage (such as BCRM, Raisers Edge, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of Spanish & Creole is helpful but not required.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, walking, and occasionally required to reach, bend, lift, or climb.
  • Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
