**Description**

The starting pay range for this position begins at $17/hour and is based on the level of qualifications and relevant experience above the minimum requirements. **This position is eligible for a 3rd shift pay differential of $2.00/hour. (Base pay of $15.00 + shift differential $2.00 = $17.00/hour)**

Year Round/ Full Time: a position averaging 35+ hours a week.

The Overnight Cleaner will maintain and clean assigned areas (rooms, public areas, employee areas) in accordance Biltmore standards at the Village Hotel during the 3rd shift while offering exceptional guest service. Duties include: upkeep and presentation of rooms, bathrooms, hallways, employee areas, pool area, entrance, courtyard, fitness center, etc.; deep cleaning, dusting, vacuuming, polishing furniture, and sanitizing; and responsibility for floor care, ash urns, outdoor furniture, and pool supply replenishments. Duties may also include other deep cleaning projects within areas, as well as providing general support and assistance to the leadership, department, and company.

Schedules can vary, but are generally 10:30pm to 7am.

**Essential Job Duties**

1. Clean assigned areas in accordance to departmental standards, maintaining exceptional level of detail.

2. Proper use of all chemicals, tools and equipment.

3. Properly clean floors by dusting, mopping, remove stains, and vacuuming.

4. Clean windows, mirrors and glass in public areas.

5. Proper care and cleaning of furniture by dusting, polishing, or removing stains.

6. Dust pictures, furnishings, and other items throughout public areas.

7. Maintain cleanliness and care of elevators.

8. Clean and replenish all guest and staff bathrooms.

9. Sweep, straighten furniture, maintain trash receptacles at the entrance and courtyard.

10. Keep pool area clean, safe, and linens replenished for guest, remove and maintain trash receptacles.

11. Keep cart stocked and clean; keep staff hallways clean and orderly.

12. This position is responsible for performing the above duties during 3rd shift. The ability to work overnight hours as designated by leadership is an essential function of this position

**Requirements**

1. Previous experience in housekeeping and/or custodial, janitorial, or related field strongly preferred.

2. Knowledge of hotel housekeeping and/or rooms operations preferred.

3. Commitment to delivering world class internal/external guest service; anticipates guest needs.

4. Knowledge of proper chemical handling and cleaning techniques helpful.

5. Proven ability to multi-task effectively, work as part of a team and under deadlines, and exercise good judgment. Must be able to prioritize.

6. Excellent attention to detail is a must.

7. Ability to be proactive and take initiative as appropriate.

8. Solid communication skills. Must be able to respond appropriately to guest requests.

9. Ability to operate/use small commercial cleaning equipment.

**Physical Requirements:**

1. Able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 75 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally (with assistance).

2. Endure various physical movements throughout the work area; must be able to kneel, stoop, bend, reach overhead and below.

3. Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time throughout the shift; may occasionally work in locations where the ability to climb ladders or stairs would be required.

**Additional Responsibilities:**

1. Assists other staff members as needed or requested, to assure exceptional quality and service.

2. Performs any other tasks or projects as directed by the Housekeeping Manger and Night Manager to assure smooth departmental operations.

3. Report any maintenance problems to the Maintenance Department to assure guest and staff service and safety.

4. Become familiar with company services and locations to be well prepared for guest questions.

5. Provide general support and assistance to the department, leadership, and company as required.
