Senior Accountant

Job Details

A national financial services company located in Waltham, MA is active in their search for a Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant will supervise general accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and control over financial transactions. This position demands strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles to scrutinize financial reports and predictions. The ideal Senior Accountant candidate will possess experience in team collaboration or management within an accounting context.

Primary Responsibilities Of The Senior Accountant Will Include

• Supervising monthly general ledger entries and overseeing monthly closing schedules
• Monitoring bank balances through an online platform and daily recording of activities in the general ledger
• Preparing precise and timely monthly account reconciliations, financial statements, and analyses
• Liaising with external auditors and supporting audit schedules and reports
• Generating precise and punctual internal and external reports
• Spearheading process enhancements within relevant accounting functions
• Documenting, analyzing, and communicating monthly transactional specifics
• Upholding, monitoring, and documenting robust internal controls
• Undertaking cross-training across various accounting functions
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of progressive corporate accounting experience
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• High attention to detail with strong analytical skills
