RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will work on projects assigned within the Indianapolis, Indiana area. The superintendent will be supported by a team of construction experts. The Project Superintendent may have direct reports and will collaborate the project overview with team members. The Project Superintendent will report to the Senior Superintendent as well as Executive leadership.


Safety on site is paramount, whilst communication is also crucial. The type of projects include manufacturing / pharmaceutical facilities, hospitality venues and other industrial projects.


A BREAKDOWN OF DAY-TO-DAY ACTIVITIES


  • Interface with client representatives, A/E representatives, trade contractors, subcontractors, material/equipment suppliers and external parties such as city inspectors, and OSHA
  • Work with the Senior Superintendent to maintain communications with wider team and leadership, and request manpower and equipment
  • Oversee and assume responsibility of craft employees and/or trade contractors and subcontractors
  • To meet project and profitability initiatives, participate in schedule development, implementation, conformance management, and job cost and/or budget management
  • Participate in all performance evaluations, project personnel transactions, purchase requisitions, field design change requests, and RFIs and submittals
  • Assist project management in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, and standards
  • Provide technical assistance as required
  • Ensure on-site personnel comply with project procedures, quality control, safety program requirements, and work rules
  • Document violations, notify project management, and recommend and/or implement corrective actions as required
  • Supervise Assistant Superintendent (s)
  • Perform additional assignments per Senior Superintendents direction


A STRONG CANDIDATE HAS THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS


  • 4-year higher educational degree or equivalent commercial/industrial construction experience
  • 1-5 years of construction management and/or craft supervision experience in commercial/industrial construction
  • Ability to control and supervise large teams
  • Knowledge of construction technology, equipment, and methods
  • Proven communication, organizational, and supervisory skills
  • Proven capability on job costing, scheduling, quality control and safety requirements
