Feed Ingredient Merchandiser- Grinnell, IowaA member-owner cooperative is seeking a Feed Ingredient Merchandiser in Grinnell, Iowa. Based in Central, Iowa, the Feed Ingredient Merchandiser is responsible for feed ingredient purchasing and sales.
Responsibilities:
* Purchase packaged and bulk feed ingredients
* Maintenance of all computer driven perpetual ingredient inventories and the compliance of the long and short ingredient position according to the cooperative's Risk Management policy
* Responsible for the forward pricing of customer feed or ingredient purchase contracts
* Calculations of retail bulk and bagged feed prices
* Adheres to the cooperative's pricing policies and credit terms
* Responsible for completing assigned accounting functions
* Assist with office activities including answer phones, weighing trucks and entering feed orders
* Assists with accounts receivable collections
* Communicate grain needs with logistics dispatcher, other locations and Grain Department
* Other duties as assigned by Feed Department Manager
Position Competencies and Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree (B.A.); or 6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Minimum of 3 years working in feed operations, with increasing levels of responsibilities
* Mathematical skills: ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportion, percentages, area and volume.
* Computer skills: knowledge of accounting software, database software, spreadsheet software and word processing software.
* Possess a valid, unrestricted drivers license
* Valid work authorization and ability to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
