SUMMARY:

The Sourcing Specialist is responsible to locate, qualify, solicit, evaluate suppliers/subcontractors to support Bowen operations and regional offices. This includes locating new and existing national and international sources of materials; evaluation of those sources to ensure they meet/exceed safety metrics, quality standards, and financial stability; initiating requests for proposals/bids to qualified suppliers, detailing the specific requirements of the requisition; then the specialist will evaluate all proposals ensuring compliance to the instructions and needs of the project.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead supplier sourcing efforts for Bowen operations and bids
  • Analyze qualification data, financial reports, safety logs, quality manuals
  • Research and evaluate suppliers based on safety, price, quality, availability, reliability, capabilities, and reputation.
  • Prepare Request for Proposals (RFP s), identifying
  • Detailed supply or service description
  • Milestone schedule requirements
  • Submittal expectations
  • Quality requirements
  • Prime Contract flow-down provisions
  • Bowen point of contact(s)
  • Delivery instructions
  • Evaluate proposals and quotations and develop comparative bid tabs
  • Assist in commercial terms negotiations with supplier representatives
  • Assist in new market and emerging industry technologies research
  • Continually search for better sources of more economical materials, supplies, and services.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned


SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Interpret construction documents, contracts, plans, and specifications.
  • Maintain positive and ethical relations with subcontractors and vendors/suppliers
  • Coordinate with Estimating and Operations throughout the buyout cycle
  • Support Bowen s supplier prequalification database
  • Assist in the coordination of efforts in the supplier corrective action process, including product returns and payment reconciliation
  • Purchasing department responsibilities
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned


EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

  • AS or BS in business, engineering, construction management or equivalent degree and a minimum of 2 years experience in construction or equivalent work/field/military experience.
  • Possess knowledge of equipment and materials common in the construction industry.
  • Sales or Negotiation experience a plus.

  • Have adaptability to various computer program applications and operating systems, including Viewpoint, SmartBid, and Build, with initial training provided.
