Design Drafter


Job Details

Airswift is working in partnership with a well-established steel manufacturer, which is currently looking to hire a Drafter.


You'll be responsible for transforming engineering designs, customer specifications, and industry standards into CAD drawings essential for the manufacturing of structural and infrastructure products


Key Responsibilities:


  • Evaluate specifications and engineered designs to ensure constructability and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with team members to address any discrepancies in customer documents.
  • Generate Submittal Drawings and Shop Drawings according to engineering data and client needs.
  • Deliver drawings, DXF files, and Bills of Material within project deadlines.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of own work to guarantee completeness and accuracy before submission.
  • Incorporate corrections from redlines with proper documentation.
  • Fulfill additional tasks assigned by the Manager.
  • Foster collaboration within cross-functional teams.


Minimum Requirements:


  • Associate degree or Certificate in Structural or Mechanical Drafting, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in Structural or Mechanical Drafting with similar responsibilities.


Essential Skills and Abilities:


  • Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Strong grasp of structural or mechanical drafting principles.
  • Ability to apply mathematics, geometry, and trigonometry.
  • Effective prioritization skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
  • Familiarity with AWS weld symbols.
  • Understanding of common drafting practices and standards.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word).
  • Basic knowledge of engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
