Description

Position Overview:

The Human Resources (HR) Generalist will perform a variety of tasks that support the efficient operations of the HR department and add value to the organization. The HR Generalist will be knowledgeable about federal and local employment laws and how to apply them in practice, utilize available technology and applications appropriately to efficiently perform assigned tasks, and administer talent acquisition and retention, onboarding and training, benefits, compliance and reporting, performance management, and employee engagement programs.

The HR Generalist is a highly visible representative of RCM both within the organization and in the community, with frequent contact (face-to-face, email, and telephone) with partners, vendors, and members of the community.

Specific Roles and Responsibilities:

Generate and maintain an ongoing talent pipeline of qualified candidates for critical positions (DSP/TME). Identify and execute strategies for maintaining the critical position pipeline, as well as the applicant pool for active open positions.

Effectively utilize the applicant tracking system to move candidates through the recruitment process (resume review, screening, interviews, and selection). Communicate final status to applicants throughout the process (no interest, hold resume for future consideration). Extend verbal and written employment offers.

Screen and interview selected applicants.

Assist HR Manager with recording recruitment metrics and identifying trends that may suggest a need to adjust and/or revise recruitment strategies.

Represent RCM at career fairs, information sessions, and community events.

Complete reference checking and employment verifications.

Deliver policy/practice/HR presentation during monthly orientation sessions. Review and explain new hire paperwork and complete onboarding activities (drug tests, driving record, etc.), as needed.

Coordinate annual open enrollment activities for benefits. Process benefit enrollments, terminations, and qualifying changes. Resolve issues and answer questions related to benefits.

Assist with preparation of Form 5500s (health plan and 401(k) retirement plan) and non-discrimination testing.

Complete and file EEO-1 annually. Complete and post OSHA 300 A report and maintain OSHA Forms 300 and 301.

Ensure that labor law posters are current and conspicuously posted at all times.

Coordinate performance assessment activities utilizing internal performance assessment application. Track completion of performance assessments.

Maintain Paycom HRIS by processing all employee changes (status, job, pay, department, etc.).

Generate HRIS standard management and ad hoc reports.

Assist HR Manager with HR benchmarking, department goal-setting, process generation, event planning, etc., as needed.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

At least 3 years of professional HR experience required; professional experience in a community-based organization, or long-term care, group home, or other environment in which 24-hour daily care for individuals is provided will be given preferential consideration.

aPHR or PHR certification preferred.

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook,Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

Ability to pass a criminal background check.

Must be able to exercise discretion always and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

Demonstrated ability to think critically and use logic and reason to identify strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions and approaches to problems.

Must possess patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.

Must be able to prioritize and operate with a sense of urgency.

Must be reliable and able to follow-through and see things through to completion.

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are required.

Effective oral and written communication in the English language.

Ability to gain a working knowledge of RCM of Washington policies and procedures.

Ability to act as a representative of RCM of Washington to the public.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with other staff members and individuals from different backgrounds.

Environmental Conditions:

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones and photocopiers/scanners.

Noise level: low

Work environment may involve situations that require working with individuals with Behavior Support Plans, complex medical needs, and significant developmental disabilities.

Physical Demands:

The person in this position frequently remains in a stationary position.

The person in this position frequently moves or traverses about the inside of the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, etc.

The person in this position constantly operates a computer keyboard and mouse, calculator, copy machine, and other office machinery.
