GENERAL DESCRIPTION Summary

The Benefits Financial Manager will develop a command of all benefits and funding options to ensure clear and concise option evaluations for our clients. This position will work closely with Producers and the Support Team in determining the best marketing strategy for each client s need and goals by analyzing and outlining all opportunities. Analyze, document and have the ability to present experience and utilization data that will provide insight into future renewal actions, impact of potential plan design changes and benchmark the client against their peers.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • internal strategic discussions surrounding what benefits and carriers/vendors will be solicited for the most favorable marketing results while meeting the client s needs.
  • and accurate solicitation and follow up for quotes/rates/plan designs.
  • and analyze quotes/rates/plan designs/financial data provided by each carrier/vendor to meet the most effective strategy for each client.
  • and outline differences from one carrier/vendor to the next by assembling and summarizing data provided by carriers/vendors.
  • and accurate preparation of spreadsheet and other promotional documents for proposals, new accounts and renewals. Provide creative alternatives and recommendations based on clients need and goals as defined within the strategic discussions.
  • both internal and external analytical and performance reporting as needed or determined by client.
  • Mid-Year/Pre-Renewal presentation documents to the Service Team.
  • marketing processes and revise whenever appropriate for most efficient system through continuous improvement efforts.
  • evaluate and be informed as to market availability, competitive markets used by others, and continuously expand knowledge of markets on carrier offerings, network changes, and overall competitive landscape.
  • and manage agency relationships with carriers, both internal and external clients and carrier/vendor underwriters.
  • complete and timely responses to internal and external client and insurer marketing requests.
  • and maintain internal benchmarking reports and other analytical data reference reports.
  • analyze and monitor internal data statistics against competitive information and provide leadership with timely recommendations.
  • training and mentorship to HBS Marketing Analyst.
  • HBS procedures within Applied Epic.
  • other duties as requested or required.



KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • A Bachelor s degree is required
  • Life and Health License must be obtained within 75 days of the first day of New Hire Onboarding
  • Proficient in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office and other financial software applications.
  • Outstanding presentation and communication skills on presenting and explaining spreadsheets, reports etc. to both internal and external constituents
  • Three to five years experience in marketing within the Insurance industry.
  • The employee is responsible for adherence to the stated expectations of the E&O Plus Quality Management Program

Ability to:

Perform work on a computer for extended periods of time

Sit/stand for extended periods of time in work area

Communicate and speak in a clear, concise and professional manner both in person and on the telephone.

Travel by air or ground transportation as required in performing job duties.

Be able to lift and carry objects that weigh a minimum of 20 pounds
