All buildings and grounds of the district.

Qualifications

Degree - H.S. graduate or equivalent desirable, but not required.

Preferred Experience

Minimum of 3 years in maintaining physical facilities and/or grounds; demonstrates knowledge of the basic principles of construction, electrical, plumbing, maintenance, and security.

Primary Responsibility

To maintain all district buildings and grounds in excellent condition for full educational use at all times.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Assumes responsibility for the comprehensive maintenance and repair requirements of the physical facilities and grounds of the district.
  • Inspects all school buildings, grounds and installations on a regular basis to determine that comfort, health, and safety are maintained.
  • Reviews on a regular basis all safety security precautions and procedures and recommends additions, changes or reduction in service as appropriate.
  • Participates in training programs as provided or requested by the district.
  • Completes duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Facilities or Assistant Superintendent of Student Services.

INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS

  • Conducts self at all times as a representative of the school district.
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with staff.
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with administrators.
  • Demonstrates positive interpersonal relationships with community.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

A maintenance employee is contracted for 52 weeks per year. Compensation is according to the support staff salary schedule as established by the board of education; duty hours are stipulated on individual contracts. All other employee benefits are as provided for full-time support staff employees.

EVALUATION

Performance of this position will be evaluated at least annually by the Director of Facilities according to board policies for support staff evaluation.
