We are looking for **Transportation Finance Group - Associate**

**Level of experience** **Location** The Transportation Finance Group (TFG) is part of BNP Asset Finance & Securitization Group and focuses both on aviation and intermodal clients. Transportation Finance functions as adviser, originator and arranger of financing transactions that are secured by transportation assets such as aircraft, containers and railcars. The group is an extremely active participant in the transportation market and a financing solution provider for value-added aviation structured debt advice and transaction execution. We serve a large scope of clients ranging from airlines, operating leasing companies to institutional funds such as private equity firms and asset managers.

TFG primarily benefits from longstanding involvement and experience in aviation finance enabling the team to structure tailor-made financings through a combination of various financings, including structured term loans, secured revolvers, aircraft warehouses facilities, tax optimized lease structures and export credit facilities. Under the umbrella of Asset Finance and Securitization, the team also operates as an all service debt platform along with Global Markets to originate aviation capital markets products (ABS, EETCs, Private Placements).

TFGs revenue sources are fees (structuring, underwriting and upfront) and margin revenues. The team also provides BNPP with cross-sell opportunities on Debt Capital Markets (DCM), Derivatives Desk, Fuel Hedging, Equity products (ECM), Cash Management, Securitization and Leveraged Finance.

**Responsibilities**

As an Associate in TFG, responsibilities include supporting:

**1/ Origination**

* Assist in structuring of debt facilities (Commercial loans, ECA Guaranteed financings, revolvers facilities, Warehouses debt and tax optimized lease structures) secured by aircraft and other transportation assets.

* Prepare origination pitch books and marketing materials.

* Undertake credit risk assessments for lending proposals made by TFG to Airline and Leasing clients. Prepare Greenlight Memos and credit proposals in collaboration with the credit/coverage teams for credit committee approval.

* Run financial and cash flow models in Excel for prospective structured debt transactions.

* Support senior originators in loan origination and deal execution efforts.

* Liaise with other staff within the bank, such as account relationship managers to compile a complete and coherent credit proposal which is presented to the banks senior risk management

* Participate in negotiation of asset financing term sheets and transaction legal documents.

* Support the syndication team in their efforts to syndicate loans.

* Execute transactions and closings by liaising with the middle office, back office and agency teams.

**2 Portfolio Management**

* Monitor existing transactions and perform regular reviews of exposures to maintain overall credit quality of the portfolio. Collect valuations and prepare analyses and projections.

* Prepare waivers and select amendments

* Work with the restructuring team (Value Preservation Group) to handle non-performing loans and protect the banks assets

* As required, prepare reports for Risk Corporate, Senior Management team, including Paris Head Office

**3 Others**

* Conduct economic and industry research on transportation assets and prepare research documents to update Risk Corporate and other teams on industry specific trends.

* Assist the Senior members of the team in preparing fee reports, budget and producing pipeline.

**Qualifications:**

**Education / Experience:**

* Minimum of Bachelors degree or foreign education equivalent in Business Administration, Finance, or Economics and two (2) years of experience performing credit analysis in Aviation/Transportation related roles

* Solid credit and analytical background

* Candidates will have to travel in the U.S. and abroad

* Modeling skills to build financial and cash-flow models in Excel and assess risk and future financial performance

* Experience drafting and presenting memo, including credit proposals and client presentations.

* Communication and presentation skills (verbal & written)

**Preferred Qualifications:**

* Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the Transportation Sector and/or with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Banking

* Masters in Finance or CFA

* FINRA Series 63 and 79 licenses
