REQUIREMENTS of the Corporate Controller

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • 7 + years of current relevant accounting experience & current knowledge of GAAP
  • Big 4/Regional Public Accounting Frim + Private Industry Experience Required

RESPONSIBILITIES of the Corporate Controller

Financial Reporting:

  • Manage the monthly financial close, including the closing calendar, account reconciliations, analytics and team.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
  • Provide insightful analysis and commentary on financial performance to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain financial reporting policies and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Play a key role in the annual budgeting process in collaboration with department heads and senior management.
  • Develop financial forecasts and models to support strategic decision-making and planning.
  • Monitor and analyze budget variances, providing recommendations for corrective action as needed.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

  • Establish and maintain effective internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations affecting the dental industry, ensuring timely implementation and compliance.

Cash Management and Treasury:

  • Manage cash flow and liquidity to optimize financial performance and minimize risk.
  • Hold banking relationships and negotiate favorable terms and services.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximize cash efficiency and minimize financing costs.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team, providing guidance, mentorship, and development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance department.
  • Set clear performance expectations and goals for team members, conducting regular performance evaluations and providing feedback.
