Position Summary

UNM Golf Courses is seeking enthusiastic individuals with prior customer service experience to join the team as On-call Sports Equipment Attendants.

UNM Golf Courses is comprised of an 18-hole Championship Course just south of UNM's campus and a 9-hole North Course located just north of UNM Hospital. The UNM Golf Courses are open 363 days a year to the public, from sunrise to sunset. Sports Equipment Attendants assist with daily operations at both golf courses by performing the following duties:

  • Providing excellent customer service
  • Cleaning, preparing, and operating golf carts
  • Maintaining, washing, collecting and distributing golf range balls and baskets
  • Picking golf balls from the driving range
  • Assisting with pace of play
  • Setting up golf course for daily operations and golf tournaments
  • Cleaning and maintaining work areas

The ideal candidate must be able to work 2 - 3 days per work. Candidates also must be able to work holidays and weekends, and/or split shifts as needed. UNM Golf Courses are 7 days a week operation and are open from sun up to sun down. UNM Golf Courses are only closed Thanksgiving, Christmas, and inclement weather days.

This position is not represented by a labor union due to the On-Call status.

Conditions of Employment
  • All regular, non-temporary positions assigned to this classification are represented by a labor union and subject to the terms and conditions of the CWA Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Employees who provide services or work in patient care or clinical areas are required to be in compliance with the University's influenza vaccination requirement.


Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 6 months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s)from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications
    • Prior face-to-face customer service experience
    • Previous experience working at a golf course or have golf knowledge
    • Ability to work collaboratively with team members
    • Positive, helpful attitude and flexibility
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Demonstrated ability to multi-task
