Job Description

This position is responsible for providing support to the Foodservice Department by assisting with special project assignments, researching/documenting processes and recognizing and continually contributing to the process improvement initiatives within the Department. This position will also support the Lunch Category Manager and their assigned categories by focusing on duties related to store communications, inventory replenishment, item maintenance, customer & vendor calls, and special projects as assigned.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Complete tasks and projects in timely manner; balance multiple demands and priorities in fast paced environment while meeting deadlines and maintaining high performance and efficiency
Independently and with direction from Category Manager, draft and deliver category and promotional communications to stores such as emails, event calendar messages, updates, etc.
Regularly test and sample new food products, develop oven settings, and heat/hold settings for food product launches
Provide administrative support to Category Manager to ensure successful program rollouts
Act as central contact person for category questions from internal partners on topics such as accounting rebates and bill backs, McLane orders, Price Book exceptions, and general inquiries from Operations/store teams
Build accurate & engaging presentations on category topics and present information in group settings
Perform weekly and ad-hoc reporting on category sales and trends, review and analyze data, and present findings to the team
Perform system maintenance such as new item setups, cost and retail changes, miscellaneous item and vendor maintenance, coordinate promotional orders, new store set ups, etc.
Regular communications with supervisor, store personnel, Price Book, Marketing and Operations personnel; requires problem solving skills, ability to interact and discuss viable solutions, work in groups to obtain approvals and ability to provide strong written and verbal solutions to the team
Foster a culture of continuous innovation; develop and improve products, processes, and communication as it relates to the Foodservice Department
Cross-department communication and coordination on projects, such as marketing, promotions, planograms, and operational execution
Complete Department assigned special projects as needed

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational and process documentation skills
Attention to detail and ability to prioritize workload with minimal supervision
Ability to plan, execute and report on Foodservice program initiatives
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Power Point, & Outlook
Strong team player with the eagerness & aptitude to grow
Strong customer service orientation
Comfortable using computers & learning other reporting software including Essbase/Smart View

EDUCATION/TRAINING PREFERRED:

Familiarity with concepts and practices within a Retail Merchandising department
At least 3 years experience providing coordination or administrative support
At least a 2-year degree in Business or related field, preferred
