Director of Finance - Real Estate

Overview: This role is responsible for overseeing financial operations across diverse real estate sectors including condominiums, retail, industrial, offices, and hospitality. The Director of Finance will engage in all phases of the investment lifecycle, including acquisition, development, and ongoing asset management. Candidates should possess exceptional communication skills, the ability to manage multiple priorities, and extensive experience in financial modeling.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of financial documentation such as investment memoranda and pitch decks.
  • Construct and maintain comprehensive financial forecasts, evaluating variables like sales, leasing arrangements, and construction impacts on profitability.
  • Analyze various financing scenarios to optimize cash flow strategies at both individual asset and portfolio scales.
  • Ensure regular updates to financial models align with strategic plans and budget constraints.
  • Develop operational budgets for all project phases and oversee their execution.
  • Conduct monthly financial audits, streamline loan processing, and enhance tracking systems.
  • Integrate advanced financial software tools into modeling processes for better efficiency and accuracy.
  • Produce and refine financial analyses for new investments, sales, and refinancing ventures.
  • Compile presentation materials for stakeholder engagements including investor meetings and proposals.
  • Direct comprehensive reporting to investors and financial partners.
  • Guide and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and actionable financial insights.
  • Maintain robust professional relationships with all external partners and stakeholders.
  • Organize and prepare for high-level partnership meetings and fulfill specific reporting needs.
  • Identify and evaluate new investment opportunities, oversee financial vetting and joint venture structuring.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Finance, Economics, or a closely related field. Master s degree is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis and modeling, ideally within the real estate sector.
  • Proven track record in real estate development or private equity environments.
  • Expert-level skills in Excel and financial database software.
