Description
Infant caregivers are responsible for providing and maintaining a loving, nurturing, safe, and educational environment for the babies in their care. Caregivers report to their lead teacher as well as the Director and Assistant Director.

Responsibilities

Manage the classroom and ensure there is a ratio of 4 babies to 1 teacher.

Contribute to the creation of a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the physical development of the babies.

Execute activities that are appropriate to the ages, needs, and skill levels of the babies.

Plan activities for the babies that encourage curiosity and exploration appropriate to their age and development.

Console babies when they are upset by holding them, singing to them, and making sure their needs are met.

Prepare milk or other soft foods provided by the parents for the babies.

Attend to the personal hygiene of each baby, ensuring their diapers are changed frequently and their clothes and sheets are changed if they are soiled.

Use Brightwheel to ensure that all babies that are in your care have been checked in by their family.

Use Brightwheel to record the schedule of the babies and communicate with parents about bringing diapers, wipes, Frida, etc.

Maintain accurate and appropriate records for the babies assigned to your room.

Maintain a safe environment based on the safety standards set by the Center and State guidelines.

Make sure the babies are well dressed and properly secured for walks outside in the stroller.

Maintain a clean classroom to the best of your ability throughout the day, making sure the tables and the floor are clean.

Clean the classroom thoroughly at the end of the day.

Work cooperatively and effectively with your lead teacher and as a team member; communicating necessary information on a continuous basis.

Establish a positive, friendly, and open relationship with each baby's family and encourage their participation in the program.

Requirements

  • Ability to teach effectively communicate both in writing and orally in the Spanish Language
  • A high school diploma or GED is required (Some College or a Bachelor's Degree is preferable)
  • A minimum of one year experience in working with early childhood, elementary school-aged students
  • Experience with hands-on learning
  • Experience with using a multi-cultural approach to promote learning
  • Ability to create a stimulating classroom environment
  • Ability to utilize the local context and environment to enhance learning
  • Ability to work and communicate with parents
  • Child focused - warm, caring ,and supportive
  • Flexibility and willingness to work with team
  • Excellent communications skills
  • A passion for teaching and learning
  • Desire to be part of a growing school by committing to its vision and mission
