Job Description:

Metas Solutions has an opening for an experienced Database Administrator. To consult on a program initiative to establish a modernized public health (PH) data ecosystem, including efforts to modernize infrastructure and system needs to help federal, state, tribal, local, and territorial (STLT). Global public health organizations and institutions make decisions about necessary improvements that will allow data to flow more seamlessly.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain database systems and schemas to meet application requirements.
  • Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure efficient operation.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and availability through proper backup and recovery procedures.
  • Install and configure database software and related tools.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with software developers and system administrators to implement database solutions.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to database configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Stay up to date with emerging database technologies and best practices.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Entry level to Senior level experience as a database administrator or in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of database management systems (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).
  • Proficiency in database design, implementation, and maintenance.
  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
  • Familiarity with database security best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional) are a plus.
