Description

The Admissions Counselor position is a part-time remote position, for 10 months. You will need to be a resident of Utah by the time the position begins.
Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience working with Customer Relations or Student Information software
  • Experience with mentoring high school and college-age students
  • Experience in creating and managing engaging activities for groups of college and high school aged students


Major Responsibilities/Duties

Skills:
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of college admissions, scholarship, and financial aid processes
  • Strong organizational, writing, planning, instructional, leadership, marketing, and communications skills
  • Proficiency with computers, social media, and basic software applications
  • Ability to properly use presentation hardware including a computer and projector
Responsibilities:
  • Report to the Deputy Director of Admissions Recruitment
  • Develop, implement, report, and assess a recruitment plan for domestic first?year and transfer students to achieve enrollment objectives
  • Represent Snow College in assigned Utah high schools (counties include Daggett, Duchesne, Uintah, Carbon, Emery, and Grand)
  • Establish relationships with high school officials, technical education schools, prospective students, and their parents/guardians
  • Convey Snow College's commitment to welcoming all students and assisting them in completing their educational pursuits
  • Conduct recruitment activities including scholarship application workshops, parent information sessions, admission application assistance, Snow Blasts, next step visits, Utah Higher Education Day, and Utah College Application Week
  • Schedule and attend follow-up visits with targeted high schools' counselors and students
  • Assist with off-campus Open Houses in Spring and Fall
  • Utilize the college's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software effectively to communicate with prospective students and cultivate individual relationships
  • Attend early morning, late-night, and weekend admissions and recruiting activities
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor

362 PART-TIME EMPLOYEE PRIVILEGES

Definition.

A part-time adjunct faculty member is employed at less than 75% time annually and teaches at least one credit hour or more.

A part-time staff member is employed at less that 75% time annually. The employment time is three continuous months at an average of 15 hours a week.

Student hourly employees are exempt from the part-time privileges of this policy.

Privileges.

Upon authorization by the hiring department, part-time employees as defined under this policy will be issued a Snow College Part-Time Staff/Faculty Identification Card at the time of hire. The card entitles the holder to all of the privileges associated with a Full-Time Staff/Faculty Identification Card including, but not necessarily limited to, general admission or discounted prices for athletic and cultural events; Snow College library card issuance; computer network, Web, and e-mail access; bookstore sponsored discounts; and other discounts associated with the ID card at either campus. Supervisors have the right to terminate the privileges at any time during the fiscal year.

Non-inherent Privileges.

Privileges of full-time employees such as, but not necessarily limited to, college parties or gatherings, professional development activities, office/computer/telephone access, current expense budgets may be provided to part-time employees only at department discretion.
