Senior Network Engineer, Seattle, WA
As a Senior Network Engineer, reporting directly to the Head of Infrastructure, you will spearhead the strategic planning, meticulous design, seamless implementation, thorough documentation, and steadfast support of our network infrastructure, encompassing data center systems and comprehensive monitoring solutions. Your Responsibilities:
- Engage in a diverse array of tasks, from crafting and deploying network equipment (including switches, routers, wireless technologies, and firewalls) across multiple on-premises sites and within a multi-cloud environment.
- Uphold the integrity of our network infrastructure across all locations, ensuring meticulous physical and logical segmentation in line with our technological needs and data protocols.
- Champion network enhancements, coordinating the scheduling and execution of upgrades, patches, and repairs to optimize system performance and reliability.
- Actively troubleshoot network technologies and continuously monitor network health to swiftly address any issues that may arise.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure configurations, guaranteeing that as-built records remain current and accurate.
- Develop and refine network policies, procedures, standards, and specifications, effectively communicating expectations to internal project teams, external vendors, and collaborative partners.
Preferred Qualifications: - A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Over 8 years of hands-on experience demonstrating deep expertise in implementing and managing network technologies, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points, while adhering to industry best practices.
- Proficiency in high-availability design, disaster recovery protocols, and the configuration of core, distribution, and access switching.
- Solid understanding of routing protocols such as BGP and OSPF.
- Experience devising power and cooling strategies, leveraging insights into power consumption, redundancy measures, space allocation, and cooling technologies.
Differentiators: - Previous experience with networking in cloud environments, particularly with services like AWS or Azure.
- Expertise in executing greenfield deployments, encompassing the design, implementation, and integration of wireless, wired, and data center technologies.
