Job Description: Research Associate


We seek an enthusiastic and curious scientist interested in taking part in all aspects of the hit-to-lead drug discovery process. The opening is at our new state-of-the-art facility in Canton, MA.


The successful candidate will engage in different research areas of the company and will work with a successful team of international senior scientists located in the USA and EU. The ideal candidate will have great communication skills, excellent technical skills, exemplary attention to detail, and a passion for learning. This position will have the opportunity to become part of an exciting, startup company and make significant scientific contributions to numerous drug discovery projects.



Responsibilities:


  • Maintain multiple mammalian cell lines and optimize them for viral production and viral assays.
  • Perform in-vitro experiments with flexibility and precision, meeting ongoing demands and establishing best practices to maximize tissue culture outputs.
  • Conduct High Throughput Screening of compounds or libraries using DSF and ELISA assay techniques, among others.
  • Maintain excellent written records of performed experiments, and work with colleagues to develop companywide SOPs.
  • Prepare reports of completed projects for presentation to company personnel.
  • Help organize laboratory inventory, reagent ordering, and other daily or extraordinary laboratory activities.
  • Provide additional research support and assistance to research tasks requested by senior management.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally with other team members to ensure that daily operations and timelines are met.



Education and Experience:


  • One year of consistent work in the viral field, including viral titrating, RT-PCR, plaque assay etc.
  • Phd in Virology or related field, Master in Sciences degree in cellular or molecular biology, or related field and 1-5 years of experience in academic or industry research
  • Previous laboratory experience in tissue culture and viral production required
  • Experience working with Small Molecule, HTS screening, PCR, qPCR, Elisa
  • Organized with a strong work ethic and the ability to juggle different tasks
  • Able to work in a team and willing to present data to our international partners
