Field Claims Property Adjuster


Job Summary:

This position is responsible for the prompt and thorough on-site investigation, evaluation and settling of routine to complex Commercial Lines Property Claims. As a Field Claims Property Adjuster, you will frequently travel to claim related sites and handle complex property losses independently and with minimal direction. The Field Claims Property Adjuster reports to the AVP, Head of Claims.


Duties/Responsibilities:

Investigate, evaluate and settling of property and casualty insurance daily claims.

Review and apply client specific claim guidelines, insurance policies, and endorsements.

Inspect property for physical damage.

Coordinate and partner with vendors such as construction contractors, repairs service companies, and various vendors needed to support the claim (as directed by client guidelines).

Execute thorough claim investigations; scene inspections, recorded statements, secure relative documentation/information.

Produce a professional adjusting report, providing findings and recommendation for claim settlement within time guidelines.

Respond timely to clients, policyholders, and coworkers.

Maintain professional and technical insurance industry knowledge through continuing education.

Flexibility in claim scheduling outside of regular business hours.

Required to deploy for CAT assignments as volume dictates.

Knowledge and experience handling Property claims in MD, PA, DE, DC, VA, NC and SC is a plus as is experience handling casualty claims.

Other duties as assigned by AVP, Head of Claims.


Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

5+ years of experience in field property adjusting experience within P&C industry

7+ years of Commercial Lines Property claims handling experience

Claims Adjusters licenses in DE, NC and SC are preferred

Proficient with using and interpreting Xactimate and Xactanalysis software

Insurance designations preferred, CPCU and/or AIC

Strong customer service skills

Excellent communication & organizational skills

Travel may be required; a valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle history report will be required


Work Environment: While this role operates in a clerical setting, it also requires frequent traveling to claim related sites to investigate, gather information and to inspect applicable properties for physical damage.


Physical Demands:

This is largely a non-sedentary role; Ability to climb stairs or ladders to conduct inspections when necessary. Position allows for remote work capability, when necessary, subject to Supervisor approval.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, during our core business hours. Be on-call for claims escalation calls when needed on weekends and holidays.


Travel:

This position does require travel within the company s geographic footprint to investigate P&C related claims onsite.
