Position: Telecommunications Technician
Telecommunications Equipment Planning
Duration: 6 months (Temp to Hire)
Hourly Rate: $26-$29
Responsibilities:
- Review complex work requests from internal and external customers.
- Attend project planning meetings and conduct site surveys.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials and labor.
- Coordinate material acquisition and labor.
- Develop project implementation plans with project managers.
- Ensure standards and quality craftsmanship through contractor collaboration.
- Provide expertise on KIRMS/ServiceNOW to BOT groups.
- Attend and contribute to KIRMS/ServiceNOW planning meetings.
- Train and instruct BOT personnel on KIRMS/ServiceNow functionality.
- Resolve problems with telecommunications equipment and cabling.
- Coordinate repairs and network changes with OITS and vendors.
- Maintain accurate records of time, materials, and test results in databases.
Requirements:
- Willingness to work in areas with potential hazards like A.C. power circuits and falls.
- Exposure to hazards associated with building mechanical rooms and power tools.
- Availability for intermittent, overnight statewide or out-of-state travel.
- Ability to work in emergencies and service state security installations.
