The Distribution Center Maintenance Technician II is responsible for the entire facility with focus on maintenance of standard operating procedures, scheduled inspections, and troubleshooting various material handling systems and equipment. Through this important work, the Maintenance Technician II supports the Distribution Center in achieving Visual Comforts purpose.
Job Description:
Education:
Associates degree or trade school certification in mechanical, electrical, controls, or equivalent related work experience preferred
Work Experiences:
5+ years of industrial maintenance, or related work experience, preferred
Previous warehouse experience preferred
Conveyor system experience preferred
Current forklift certification preferred
Welding and fabricating experience preferred
Skills:
Must have a Safety First mentality
Inventory management, equipment maintenance, data entry, and basic computer skills required
Good communication, organizational, time management and mathematical skill
Able to multi-task and work independently
Ability to anticipate and make decisions under pressure
Must be able to follow basic safety procedures and precautions due to physical risks
Responsibilities:
Provides support for the entire facility with focus on development and maintenance of standard operating procedures.
Performs preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
Troubleshoots electrical and mechanical problems related to all Material Handling Equipment (MHE).
Responds to and resolves equipment issues in a timely manner.
May require 24-hour availability for emergency response.
Assists in the purchase of spare parts and components necessary to minimize system downtime.
Maintains equipment maintenance logs.
May be required to work in confined spaces.
Works with external contractors for repairs or projects.
Will be required to handle hazardous materials.
Wears the proper safety equipment.
Performs other maintenance department duties as needed.

Must be able to lift and carry 20 60 pounds on a highly frequent basis
Ability to work in mezzanines and Scissor Lifts up to 30 ft high
Must be able to work in a non-air-conditioned warehouse environment
Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties
Adhere to company work hours, policies, procedures, and rules governing professional staff behavior

This position may require successful completion of a substance abuse screening in addition to a Criminal Background Check.
Powered Industrial Truck Positions: Requires the operation of a Powered Industrial Truck that will be used to carry, push, pull, lift, stack, or tier materials. Extra precaution, safe truck operation and procedures must be followed to ensure safety and compliance with company policies. Team member must have an active PIT Certification (provided by Visual Comfort) to operate a Powered Industrial Truck.
