Our company legacy is built on decades of developing, launching, and supporting novel, physician-tested medical devices that address unmet needs, with a long-lasting impact. We are focused on improving the management of venous thromboembolic diseases. Our team has innovated a proprietary next-generation thrombectomy technology, enabling an efficient single-pass thrombectomy with minimal blood loss.


We are hiring a Lead (Senior/Principal-level) Systems R&D Engineer to perform hands-on work as part of the development and testing of our medical device products. This position will work alongside a dynamic, fast-paced engineering team to conceive, develop, test, and debug novel catheter-based technologies to treat vascular disease. You will have ownership of the electrical hardware and software aspects of the system and perform lab experiments using standard EE lab equipment. This is a highly cross-functional role that will interface with the mechanical portions of our system as well. In addition to some soldering and assembly of electrical prototypes, this position will be responsible for writing test protocols and reports as new iterations and prototypes are tested.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Iterating hardware and software designs based on system level testing
  • Testing and debugging embedded systems at the board & microcontroller level
  • Helping to brainstorm and conceive creative engineering solutions to problems
  • Performing experiments on prototype systems
  • Working with lab equipment (scopes, signal generators, impedance analyzers, multi-meters)
  • Helping to assemble and test new prototype designs
  • Documentation of work performed, test results, test reports
  • Helping to interface with external vendors


EXPERIENCE NEEDED FOR SUCCESS:

  • Bachelors and/or Masters degree in electrical, computer engineering, or similar discipline
  • Solid understanding of circuits and hardware
  • Experience working in C on an embedded microcontroller
  • A record of seeing projects through to completion
  • Ability to perform technical writing as required
  • Startup & hands-on mentality: Articulate, motivated, independent, efficient, and able to effectively manage several projects and priorities
