Meal Program Coordinator

Pay Rate: $20/hour
Hours: Monday-Thursday, 7:00am-1:30pm

  • Plan and implement nutritional meals

  • Organize and ensure the necessary food and supplies are available

  • Educate/Train themselves on handling and preparing food safely and within state regulations

  • Maintain a clean cooking environment and ensure all equipment works properly

  • Determines food items to be ordered based on food on hand

  • Completes purchase orders/billing for needed goods and supplies

  • Ensures procedures are followed by staff member for receiving, storing, and issuing food and supplies

  • inventories food supplies needed

  • Educate/Train themselves on handling and preparing food safely and within state regulations

  • Attend Department of Education (DOE) Quarterly Meetings

  • Performs site monitoring audits

  • Interpret laws and policies

  • Perform inspections and audits

  • Evaluate corporate policy and recommend improvements

  • Investigate and analyze data for compliance with affirmative action requirements

  • Develop and provide employee training on compliance policies, practices, and reporting systems.

  • Identify, investigate, and report compliance issues, irregularities, and violations.

  • Track and respond to complaints.

  • Maintain records of compliance activities.

  • Tracks daily meal counts

  • Processes weekly meal claims, updates and maintains nutrition forms, and required nutrition documents.

  • Supervises and participates in the receipt of food deliveries and serving of food in the school cafeteria (breakfast and lunch)

  • Prepare snacks


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • Previous food handling

  • Ability to follow detailed food preparation instructions

  • Professional appearance and demeanor

  • Excellent people skills

  • Basic math skills

  • Physical Demands: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable a person with a disability to perform the essential functions.)

    • Persons performing service in this position classification will exert 50 lbs. of force

    • frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

    • Standing most of the time, but will involve walking or sitting for extended periods

    • Perceiving the nature of sound, near and far vision, depth perception, providing oral information, the manual dexterity to operate business related equipment, and handle and work with various materials and objects are important job aspects.
